Whitehouse Cherry Festival scheduled for June 12-14

The Anthony Wayne Regional Chamber will host the 42nd Annual Cherry Fest in Whitehouse, on June 12, 13 and 14. This event brings together the community for family-friendly activities, including the cherry dessert contest, classic car show, military night and amusement rides. Added this year is a special sensory friendly hour.

Sensory Friendly

On Friday, June 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a sensory-friendly hour will be held. Guests and their support staff are invited to the ride area during this special time. Enjoy a calmer, quieter, sensory- friendly ride experience. Don’t miss the Camp Courageous and Ability Center booths for more information and resources.

Cherry Fest Car Show 

This year’s car show, presented by Dave Giest and We Care Body Shop, will be held Saturday, June 14.

Vehicle arrival time is between 9 and 10 a.m., with an entry fee of $10. All cars and trucks are welcome. To register, call Louann at 419-290-0629 or online at awchamber.com.

Trophies will be awarded for: best of show, highest truck mileage, best overall modified, best 1900-20, best 1921-30, best 1931-40, best 1941-50, best 1951-60, best 1961-70, best 1971-90, best 1991-2010 and best 2011-25. Dash plaques will be presented to the first 40 registered.

Vehicles will enter Indianapolis Street off Route 64 in Whitehouse, directly across from the Whitehouse Library. Trophy presentation at 2 p.m., immediately after the parade.

Free parking is available. There will be a parade, chicken barbecue, local vendors, large amusement rides, local music, a beer and wine garden and more.
