Living up to its name, the Wicked Wheels car show proved wickedly fun for more than 1,200 people who gathered for the yearly show at Springfield High School. Held on a beautiful August 2 afternoon, the event offered car buffs the chance to explore 400 cars from antiques to classics along with sports cars.
The event also featured music, food trucks with tasty treats to suit everyone’s palate, a performance by the Blue Devil band, an attended children’s area and “Information Highway.” “We did even better this year than last,” said Kristina White, community liaison for the school district, noting the crowd and number of participants exceeded the previous year. She expressed appreciation to all who participated, noting that funds raised from the show will go toward the district’s literacy, character and creative classrooms initiatives.
