Although January proved relatively dry and not terribly cold, Mother Nature opened the flood gates, literally, in February as northwest Ohio got inundated with more than a foot of snow followed by other weather systems that dumped inches of rain, sleet and snow on northwest Ohio.
Fluctuating temperatures led to an ice floe along the Maumee River, below, and higher water levels, above, that created a brisk rapids near Side Cut Park.
