The YWCA child care resource and referral department is offering a children’s developmental program for parents with children from birth to age 5.
Baby Talk is a program instructed by a YWCA outreach parent specialist. The program, a once-a-month home visit, is designed to help families in our community by increasing knowledge and resources to support their child’s development throughout the program year.
Each home visit will consist of interactive activities, education bags and optional screening assessments for children. Together, the specialist and parent/caregiver will set goals to assist with the home learning environment for their child’s development.
“Baby Talk” also offers monthly socialization days where families are able to network with one another and have a safe environment for parents and caregivers to interact with their children through engaging hands-on activities.
The next socialization day is January 21, noon to 5 p.m., at Hampton Inn Suites, 3434 Secor Road, Toledo. This month’s theme is “Mom’s Cozy Winter Spa Day.”
Mom’s come to play while kids are home to stay. This free event focuses on mothers and their needs, to shower them with gifts and praises, give them motivation to keep pushing for themselves and their families.
Participants must be signed up for Baby Talk to enjoy the socialization days.
