Kristy DiSalle, Holland Intermediate’s innovative fourth-grade science teacher, launched Project PRAIRIE in collaboration with the Toledo Zoo. Through this innovative program, students step outside the classroom and into a native prairie to explore science firsthand. From planting seeds to tagging Monarch butterflies, they are becoming young conservationists and ecologists—learning to care for the environment while aligning with district goals for hands-on, inclusive education.
