Lucas County Canine Care and Control is hosting the “As Good As Gold” Olympicthemed adoption special through Sunday, August 8.
The fee for dogs and puppies adopted from canine care and control is being reduced to just $5, which includes having the dog spayed or neutered, initial vaccinations, registered microchip, heartworm testing and prevention and parasite treatment if needed.
The adoption of any dog from the shelter also requires the purchase of a license–$25 in Lucas County–which is good through January 31, 2022.
There are more than 60 dogs in need of new homes at the center, 410 South Erie Street, with more dogs available for adoption each day.
All dogs available for adoption can be viewed at www.lucascountydogs.com or on the Facebook page.
For those individuals or families who have a resident dog and are looking to adopt another one, be sure to bring the resident dog to the shelter for a meet and greet. Also, families are encouraged to bring in children to the shelter to meet their new pet.
Lucas County Canine Care and Control is always looking for donations of old towels, blankets, treats, toys and monetary donations, which can be made to Cutie’s Fund to help pay the costs for the medical needs of our dogs.
They also are seeking volunteers. Anyone interested is invited to visit the shelter and complete an application.
