The two seats up for election on the board of trustees for Springfield Township will have three candidates vying in the November 2 election.
Incumbents Bob Bethel of Kellerston Road and Tom Anderson Jr. of Geiser Road are running for re-election, facing Georgia Rogers, a write-in candidate of Derbyshire Road.
The deadline for township, school board and village positions was August 4 to file with the Lucas County Board of Elections.
The Board of Elections also certified three candidates to run unopposed for four open seats on the Springfield Board of Education.
They are incumbents Ev Harris of Albon Road, Sherri Koback of Albon Road and Rachel Geiger of Empire Court.
Mark Brooks of Longport Drive filed a petition to run for the school board, but it was declared invalid by the Board of Elections.
Incumbent school board member Rick Helminski is not seeking re-election.
Five seats on Holland Village Council will be up for election in November. They currently are held by Mike Bettinger of Clark Street, Ryan Spangler, Roger Burditt, Chad Smith and Scott Brown of Weatherstone Road.
All candidates except Mr. Burditt and Mr. Smith filed petitions to run for re-election.
In addition, Nathan Gaubert of Whisperlake Road, also filed to run for council.
Mr. Brown and Mr. Smith were appointed by council within the past year to fill vacancies left when Councilman Tony Kruczkowski moved out of the village and Councilman Noah Stone passed away.
