The Springfield Alumni Association will host its annual Alumni Night on Friday, September 10, at Memorial Stadium, Hall Street, Holland, prior to the Blue Devils’ Northern Lakes League opener against Sylvania Southview.
The event begins at 5:45 p.m. with a gate dedication in honor of Rick Upchurch, a 1970 graduate of Springfield High School who went on to play professional football with the Denver Broncos. The five-time All-Pro, was inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame, an exclusive club of Pro Football Hall of Famers John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Floyd Little and Gary Zimmerman.
Following the dedication, there will be a tailgate at 6 p.m. with free hotdogs and the game kicks off at 7 p.m.
