Alzheimer’s in-person caregiver support group to meet January 4

Family members who are caring for their loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia have a new resource starting in January.

An Alzheimer’s Association support group dedicated to caregivers is starting back up in person at Sylvania United Church of Christ. Former, current and new members are invited to come out and support each other. This group is starting Tuesday, January 4, at 6 p.m., and will meet for around an hour monthly on the first Tuesday. Meetings are free and open to the public. Advanced registration is encouraged; call 800-272-3900 to register.

The church, at 7240 Erie Street, Sylvania, is easily accessible, with plenty of parking.

Attendees will be required to wear masks, and all other local health and safety guidelines will be followed.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s 24/7 helpline, 800-272-3900, is always available and connects individuals to a live person.
