Premier Bank’s collection last month for the Cherry Street Mission netted a variety of warm men’s clothes and shoes.
“We’re sending out a huge thank you to all who donated to the Cherry Street Mission drive,” said Chrissa Liskai, relationship banker with Premier Bank, 1077 Louisiana Avenue, Perrysburg.
Community donations included 30 winter coats, 30 winter boots and tennis shoes, 17 heavy pairs of jeans and 62 pairs of socks.
“Also T-shirts, long sleeve T-shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts and long johns were collected to help keep these men warm and dry over these winter months,” she explained, adding that more than $200 was donated for the Cherry Street Mission to purchase other items.
Since May, the mission has seen an 800 percent increase in individuals experiencing homelessness for the first time in their lives.
