Penta construction students remodel benches for Rotary Club

Students in AJ Adame’s construction class at Penta Career Center recently completed a bench remodeling project for the Waterville Rotary Club. “We did 12 benches,” Mr. Adame said, adding that the construction classes were assisted by some sophomore exploratory students.

“It was an awesome project,” he said, and noted many of the benches had deteriorated due to their wood construction and weathering. The new benches were built using a composite product, which will last longer and be more weather resistant, Mr. Adame explained.

Superintendent Ed Ewers commended the instructor and his students. “This is just one of the great things that happen at Penta every day,” he said.
