Area food pantries offer groceries, other items to area residents in need

Holland-Springfield area families needing assistance in feeding their families have several options available to them.

The following are helping hands organizations:

•Connecting Kids2Meals– meals and after-school snacks can be picked up at sites through the greater Toledo area, including the Holland Branch Library. For more information, visit connecting kidstomeals.org.

•Dwelling Place–meats, fruits, vegetables, bread, nonperishable items and more are offered on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, 8201 Angola Road. Contact Pastor Roger Trowbridge at 419-867- 7794 for more details.

•Providence Lutheran Church–drive-thru food and hygiene pantries are offered on the fourth Thursday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. Families will receive two bags of groceries and one of the personal items.

The dates are February 24, March 24, April 28 and May 26.

The church also offers a Blessing Box near door B which is open for 24/7 emergency food and personal needs.

Springfield Local Schools also serves a free breakfast and lunch for all students Monday through Friday through the 2021-22 school year.
