The Lucas County commissioners approved several project agreements between Springfield Township and other local entities and the Ohio Department of Transportation at the February 1 meeting.
Federal funds to be disseminated by ODOT were received for the following projects:
•A roundabout at Salisbury and Holloway roads–the project will cost an estimated $1.67 million, with ODOT channeling federal funds of $932,105. The county will provide the remaining resources to complete the project.
•McCord Road median sidewalk from Carrietowne Lane to Woodlake Drive–ODOT will provide up to $101,800 of the $308,000 needed with the county funding the remainder.
•Bancroft Street and McCord Road resurfacing–the $456,560 project will receive federal funds of $381,200. The project will entail milling existing pavement, performing spot full depth repairs and other necessary work.
•King Road signal–up to $135,492 of the $169,000 will be used to construct a signal for bicycle and pedestrian crossing at King and University Parks Trail.
•Hill Avenue roundabout–the county engineer has received $888,000 from ODOT to construct a roundabout at Hill Avenue and Centennial Road. Total project cost is estimated at $910,000.
The commissioners also awarded a $1.39 million contract to Gerken Paving of Napoleon for phase one of the 2022 Ohio Public Works Commission resurfacing projects.
In addition, they certified county highway mileage at 269.876, 2.768 miles less than the previous year.
