Springfield Local Schools in partnership with the Springfield Area Prevention Coalition set up a literacy program to encourage reading among preschool children.
Each student received a sheet with 15 snowflakes. Each snowflake represented a book they were to read. For each book they read with their family, students could color in a snowflake. Students who colored in all of their snowflakes were entered into a drawing for Toledo Zoo tickets donated by SAPC, and each participant who completed the sheet was given a new book to take home.
