The Alzheimer’s Association northwest Ohio chapter is offering a new program for caregivers facing the challenge of assuming financial responsibility for someone living with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. The program, held at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 24, will provide practical ways to make financial plans and manage another person’s finances.
It will be presented on Zoom and pre-registration is required. To register, call the Alzheimer’s Association’s 24/7 Helpline at 1-800-272-3900 and provide an email address. Instructions on how to join the webinar will be emailed to registrants.
“If you or someone you know is facing Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or another chronic illness, it’s never too early to put financial plans in place,” said Pam Myers, chapter program director. “Assuming the responsibility for someone else’s financial welfare can be challenging and intimidating. This wonderful one-hour program will help empower caregivers facing this challenge.”
Program topics include tips to manage someone else’s finances, how to prepare for future care costs and demonstrate the benefits of early planning.
Those who are concerned about themselves or a loved one can call 419-537-1999 to schedule a care consultation and be connected with local resources that can help.
