Holloway Elementary SCHOOL NEWS

We are in the midst of “testing season.” Those days when students’ knowledge of the intricacies of core curricular subjects is measured through Ohio Achievement Tests. In addition to our dedication to teaching students more than what is required in the realm of reading, writing, math, etc., Holloway staff also devote considerable time to character development among students.

In this column, I have shared the names of those students who are identified by their teachers for good character. This week’s edition is no different; however, especially for our students who work hard to demonstrate their commitment to academics, it somehow feels even extra-special to bring attention to those who demonstrated leadership and showed others what to do by being a good example. Their encouragement, positive attitudes and efforts to display trustworthiness, responsibility and motivation align with what we are looking for in Springfield’s portrait of a graduate.

Congratulations to: kindergarten–Lilly Schmidt, Brixton McCadney and Charlotte Wilhelm; first grade–Ava Carter, Cameron Roslan and Zoey Mikolas; second grade–Mohammed Alsffar, Brennan Stewart and Peyton Scott; third grade– Makenzie Burnham, Paige Shible and Aliyah Webb; fourth grade–Miles Molnar, Noelle Dankert and Emily Coleman, and fifth grade–Alice Rainey, Harlem Peterson and Amelia Littin.
