Principal’s Message

The end of April wrapped up our final round of state testing. I couldn’t be more proud of all the students for how they kept the school quiet during testing. The younger grades did an excellent job showing the Hawk Way in the hallways.

As I mentioned last week, there are a lot of events that take place over the next several weeks. Mr. G reminded me to include that, as we have made it to the final lap of the school year, recognizing students for the hard work they put in throughout the year is one of the best things that we do. I’d like to join him in revealing the Spring Character Recognition Awards. You will find these at youtu.be/UxQX okCAiwo.

Field Day Information

Field Day will be taking place all day Friday, May 20, on the high school track. We are allowing parents this year, if they would like to sit in the stands and watch their child. We ask that you enter the gate closest to the middle school, so you can sign in. Please, do not sign in at the school. Times for each grade level will be sent out in the newsletter. Order forms were sent home for each student to get a field day shirt, free of charge. The Holland Parent Council is purchasing shirts for every student to wear that day.

Holland Carnival and Sm‘arts’ Festival

The Holland Carnival

This fun event returns Friday, May 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. The carnival will take place in the loop between Holland and the middle school. There will be games, a food truck, raffles, face painting, magicians and a dunk tank. Plenty more details to come, so stay tuned. Sm‘ARTS’ Festival

Student art work will line the halls leading down to the cafeteria.

Featured in the gym next to the cafeteria: Mrs. Mohr will lead some kindergarteners in song at 5:30 p.m.; Mrs. Brown is inviting any fourth graders for a brief jump rope demonstration at 6 p.m., and Mrs. Daniels will have some fifth graders demonstrating some Cain’s Arcade projects at 6:30 p.m.

Fifth Grade Recognition

Fifth grade recognition will take place on Tuesday, May 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the high school auditorium. Formal invitations will be sent out to families, but you can mark it down now. We are allowing each student to invite four guests for the event. More information will be coming soon.
