The Ohio Department of Transportation is holding a virtual open house to gather input on options to improve the interchange of I-475 with State Route 2/Airport Highway.
A feasibility study is being conducted to explore options to improve safety and reduce congestion at the interchange.
The study also proposes to construct a multi-use path along Airport Highway from Holland-Sylvania Road to McCord Road. Additional improvements include up grades to sidewalks and crosswalks, curbs and gutters, roadway drainage and lighting.
Materials available online explain the overall study and present the findings so far, including potential impacts such as permanent and temporary right-of-way needs. Specific detour information is not known at this time.
Currently, the recommended alternative is to construct a divergent diamond interchange (DDI). Future public involvement will occur when a preferred alternative is chosen.
The study and other materials are available at trans portation.ohio.gov/pro jects/projects/112558.
Comments regarding the study may be submitted at this site as well.
