The Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio will host its ninth annual ride and drive event on Saturday, September 24. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be held rain or shine.
The event, part of National Drive Electric Week, is held in conjunction with the national chapter Electric Vehicle Association.
“This year we’ve moved the event to Oregon, Ohio. We’ve selected the beautiful Pearson Metropark as the site,” said Michael Hall, event organizer. “This park has everything, walking trails, fishing and a playground for the kids and so much more. And, we’ll be at Tennis Court Shelter located at Lot No. 5 so we don’t have to worry about rain. Hot dogs and burgers will be served as
well.” The event is open to the public, and guests can register at drivelectricweek.org. EV and hybrid owners are invited to register as well. The Jeep 4xe, Tesla Models S, X, Y, 3, Volkswagen ID.4,
Honda Clarity, Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Spark, Chevrolet Bolt, Ford Mach-e, Ford Lightning and Rivian are expected to be showcased.
“This year we’ve chosen an ‘All Things Electrified’ theme for our traditional ride and drive event,” said Mr. Hall. “You can still come on out and see the Teslas, the Volts, the e-Jeeps and such, but this year you can play with yard machines as well. We’re expecting to showcase Dewalt, Ryobi and Cub Cadet machines. And we are super excited to have Pedego Electric Bikes of Maumee participate at this year’s event. They’re going to bring a few of their e-Bikes to showcase and ride around the park.”
There will be a raffle for an e-Bike by Pedego and other items. All proceeds go to the EVs for Education scholarship
fund.”
The event is free, although guests are encouraged to support the scholarship fund with a drop-box for donations.
