Nature’s Nursery seeks creative builders for birdhouse auction

Nature’s Nursery has announced that Battle Of The Birdhouses is back for its third year of encouraging creativity and raising funds for local wildlife.

Each year, Nature’s Nursery admits more than 3,700 sick, injured and orphaned native wild animals for care and also helps hundreds more remain in their wild habitats.

As a non-profit, funded completely on donations, the organization gets creative with events and fund-raisers.

“Battle Of The Birdhouses was first launched in 2020 with over 25 birdhouses and over $3,500 raised for wildlife rehab,” said Allison Schroeder, Nature’s Nursery executive director.

“It’s become one of our annual fund-raisers that people really look forward to. It’s fun to see the creative birdhouses that people build and the ideas that they come up with.”

The event gives local individuals or teams the opportunity to build the unique projects.

All items will be auctioned online and the one that sells for the highest price wins $500 from Genoa Bank.

Completed houses are due by October 3, at Genoa Bank on Conant Street, Maumee.

Complete rules and registration can be found at na tures-nursery.org/events.
