Springfield Local School District has been awarded a national EVERFI Empowered Seal.
The district’s dedication to providing an evidence-informed education that prepares students for success in the real world, led to its receipt of the seal.
The national designation is awarded to public school districts that have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to comprehensive education strategies on topics such as financial literacy, health and careers. This is the first time Springfield has received the honor.
“It’s exciting to have our district’s dedication to students nationally recognized with the EVERFI Empowered Seal,” said Superintendent Matt Geha. “Our educators’ work and compassion have a lasting impact on the lives of our students, and it is because of their commitment that we received this seal.”
In addition to being recognized nationally for their work, the seal provides district students with the opportunity to participate in the Empowered Seal Scholarship contest.
Ten students will be selected as winners, with two winning $1,000 scholarships and eight students each receiving a $500 scholarship. Contests are held in the fall and spring.
