St. Ursula Academy senior Kathryn Buerk, of Holland, has earned Commended Student honors from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for her performance on the Practice SAT (PSAT).
Her score places her in the top 50,000 students in the nation and offers her scholarship opportunities for higher education.
Kathryn attended St. Joan of Arc parish school before enrolling at SUA. She is the daughter of Brandon and Nadiya Buerk.
She will complete six AP courses by graduation.
At SUA, she serves as a Student Ambassador, participates on the Diversity Advisory Committee, and is active in numerous campus ministry activities.
She plays the piano and performs in musicals.
Outside of school, she is a member of the Youth Advisory Board of Toledo Parks and Recreation and teaches yoga at a local organization,
