The associate director of the Ohio Council of Churches is the keynote speaker at a voter education information session at 3 p.m., on Sunday, October 30, at Payne Memorial AME Church, 209 South King Road, Holland. The Rev. Dr. Amariah McIntosh, senior pastor at Phillips Temple CME Church, Toledo, will give a nonpartisan presentation in a talk labeled, “Why Vote? The Value of Your Vote.”
Pastor McIntosh will urge visitors to exercise this civic privilege, if they are registered to vote and have not voted early. Many citizens unfortunately believe that voting makes no difference in elections. However, Reverend McIntosh will explain that a single vote can make a significant difference in election results.
Information also will be provided as to issues and the candidates on ballots in Toledo, Lucas County, and Ohio. Persons wanting details about candidates and issues on suburban, township, and village ballots will be directed to websites for that information.
Everyone is welcome to this free and neutral event.
