The tradition continues
The 47th Holidays at the Manor House returns this Saturday, December 3. Admission is free, and no reservations are required.
The home at Wildwood Metropark, 5100 Central Avenue, Toledo, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday, December 11.
For the past few weeks, volunteers from the community have been busy transforming more than 30 areas of the 30,000-square-foot Manor House into a holiday wonderland.
After touring the home, visitors can walk to Metroparks Hall to view the model train exhibit presented by the Swanton Area Railroad and Model Club.
Reservations are not required, but a limited number of people will be allowed inside the building at one time. In addition, the Andersons is sponsoring a “make a s'more” area from noon to 8 p.m., December 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11.
Visitors also are invited to stroll lighted trails on the grounds of the Manor House. The Manor House is accessible by wheelchair on the three floors decorated for the holidays. There also is one standard 18 inch wheelchair available to borrow on a first come, first served basis.
During the event, Metroparks wil have a mitten tree in the lower level, and guests are invited to bring mittens, hats or scarves to place on the tree for donation to area residents in need.
Above, clockwise from left: SSOE decorated the lower level game room as Santa’s workshop; the gardener’s room features some smelly friends of Pepe Le Pew; Bucky the Buckeye ornaments adorn this tree in a room that features all things Ohio State; the upper level dining area boasts table settings each with their own theme such as this park bench setting with a dog perched atop a bench on a wine glass, and the lower level hallway was a Bahama Llama’s delight.
