Lucas County Canine Care and Control will host its third annual Presents for Pups event on Sunday, December 18.
The center is currently seeking donations for their canine residents. Donors are asked to create a care package of dog friendly items and visit the shelter, 410 South Erie Street, Toledo, between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to drop off their gift to a dog in need. The gifts will then be opened by the dogs on a series of live Facebook posts on Christmas Day.
A donation wishlist can be found on their website, lucascountydogs.
com/donate. Those interested in donations who cannot visit can mail their items instead.
Canine care has many dogs who are looking for their forever homes. All adoptable dogs can be viewed on their website or facebook page.
Those with dogs who are looking to grow their families should bring resident dogs for a meet and greet. Families with children also are encouraged to bring kids to meet their dogs before bringing them home.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the center is invited to visit the shelter and complete an application.
