On December 17, three families from Cub Scout Pack 123 braved the cold to volunteer in Wreaths Across America at the Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania. A ceremony took place honoring all veterans laid to rest from the Revolutionary War to present day. A tribute to the fallen, rifle salute, “Taps,” benediction and several other presentations took place before volunteers broke off into groups to lay wreaths at the veterans’ headstones.
“It was a great experience for the Cub Scout members and their families to see the wreaths laid upon the many veterans who were honored and recognized for their sacrifice given to our country,” said Karen Keyes.
Wreaths Across America takes place every year in December.
