The Toledo Humane Society’s “barkery sale” will return this year, honoring Linda Hanson, a long time THS volunteer who’s love for rescue animals continues to inspire the humane society’s mission today. The sale is on Saturday, February 11, from noon to 5 p.m., at the Maumee shelter location, 827 Illinois Avenue.
Last year’s sale raised a record breaking $812.19 in honor of Ms. Hanson, but THS staff and volunteers hope to raise even more this year.
Shelter staff, volunteers and friends of Ms. Hanson are pitching in to create a variety of goodies for humans and their canine companions, with prices ranging from $1 to $10.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit THS and continue Ms. Hanson’s dream of helping homeless animals. “Linda had the biggest heart for animals and dedicated her life to helping them. She would be proud of this ‘barkery sale,’” said spearhead volunteer, Caitlyn
Keil.
