From the Desk of Principal Andy Evans The Springfield Middle School Principal Jeff Pendry and I have been noticing more cars entering the bus loop in the morning to drop off students. This is not safe, even if a bus is not in the loop. Busses enter at all different times. Please do not enter the bus loop between 7 and 7:30 a.m. or 2 to 2:30 p.m. This is simply too dangerous for students and the bus drivers. Thank you for understanding.
Thank you to the 137 visitors who were able to make it in for the second trimester music informance. Mrs. Mohr’s students did a sensational job showing off their musical abilities learned this year. I hope you found it worth your time.
Attendance Reporting
We are excited to announce a new platform to inform Holland Intermediate and Springfield Middle School if your child will be absent from school. The new process does not replace the traditional method of calling the attendance secretary, rather it adds an alternative tech-based strategy to let us know your child will be home for the day.
1. Login to Powerschool at springfield.ps.nwoca.org/ public/.
2. Select “Attendance Monitor” on the left navigation.
3. Select “Report New Attendance.”
4. Select the Date, Reason and enter an explanation for the absence.
5. Then press “Submit.” This additional attendance reporting tool will roll out the third trimester, beginning March 7.
HPC Nominations and Officer Elections
The Holland Parent Council will take nominations for officer positions at the March meeting and will vote at the April meeting.
In order to be considered for an officer position, you must have been present for two regular meetings during the same school year and must be present at the time of election.
The next scheduled meetings are Tuesdays, March 21, April 18 and May 16.
Gamers of the Week
Each week our teams nominate one student as their gamer of the week. The category they are being selected for is acceptance.
Fourth grade teams: Sonic Racing, Mason, and Marvelous, Jack.
Fifth grade: Team Legend, Alissa; Pac Peeps, Choalsen; Minecraft, Myson, and Team Splatoon, Maverick.
Berry/Klena: Sebastian.
