Two Springfield High School students who attend Penta Career Center were among 14 students inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a March 30 ceremony.
Madison Hardaway, cosmetology, and William James, information technologies academy, were inducted and recognized for their career-technical achievements.
NTHS is similar to National Honor Society at comprehensive high schools where students are recognized for scholarship, leadership, service and character.
Membership in NTHS at Penta requires students to maintain excellent attendance, good behavior and a 3.5 overall grade point average. In addition, inductees must meet the seven attributes of NTHS–skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship and leadership.
The honor society has been in existence at Penta since 2013. It was established as an additional way to recognize student achievement and leadership.
Also inducted were Oluwafeyikemi Adeyemo, Haylee Betz, Arryannah Gomoll, Kayleigh Fox, Arianna Guy, Amber Hall, Alexis Hayward, Nolan LaFeir, Jadyn Lubash, Mackenzie Secory, Sophia Sherock and Ella Speck.
