The swimming pool at Highland Meadows has been named after a familiar person to Springfield Schools. On August 19, Highland Meadows Club Manager Andy Masten announced that the pool will be named after Bill Geha who has served as the pool manager since 1973, never missing a summer season.
Mr. Masten, Bill’s children Mark, Matt, Ani, and Nikki and friend McKenna Reitz hosted a party to celebrate his 50 years of service to the club and retirement at the end of the 2023 season.
“It’s safe to say that thousands of children learned to swim, held their first jobs as lifeguards, and enjoyed the club’s facilities under his watchful eyes,” said the club manager.
In addition to serving as pool manager, Mr. Geha has had a long career in drug prevention and rehabilitation.
