Pictured is Mrs. Kerns’ second grade class with Mrs. Kirkland. By Dr. Justin Bryson What a great first week of school. Students in all grades were able to meet Mrs. MoNique Kirkland, author of the book “I Can Achieve Anything.” She spoke to students about saying positive things to themselves such as “I am Strong,” “I am Talented” and “I am Smart.” Her message to staff and students was inspiring and it was a wonderful way to kick off the 2023-24 school year. We are asking students to wear green Friday, September 8, to celebrate our monthly character trait– adaptability. Springfield Local Schools portrait of a graduate states that students who are adaptable listen to feedback from peers and adults, notice when a situation or plan is changing and do their best to embrace the change, think of new ways to solve a problem and learn to be flexible. School Start/End Times 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Doors open for students at 8:45 a.m.
