Ally Effler, chief philanthropy officer at Metroparks Toledo, has been named outstanding fund-raising professional by the Association of Fundraising Professionals northwest Ohio chapter. She was honored November 15 during the 36th National Philanthropy Day celebration at the Premier Banquet Hall in south Toledo.

Ms. Effler, with the support of the Metroparks Toledo Foundation, has raised millions of dollars for projects, including the Cannaley Treehouse Village at Oak Openings Preserve, and most recently, Glass City Riverwalk on the Toledo riverfront.

Hylant, a major donor to the Glass City campaign, was honored by the association as outstanding corporate philanthropist. Richard Hylant, an officer of the family-owned Toledo company, is vice-president of the Metroparks Toledo Foundation.
