National Project Linus blanket day will be held on Saturday, February 17, at Living Faith United Methodist Church, 1240 Columbus Avenue, Holland. The mission of Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gift of new, handmade, washable blankets and afghans, crafted by volunteer blanketeers.
Anyone who can learn to tie a square knot is invited to join anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
At the 2018 quilt-a-thon, more than 100 blankets were made by 23 volunteers. This year’s goal is to complete 150 blankets and to have 40 volunteers.
The volunteer organization has delivered more than 9,356,300 handmade blankets to children worldwide since 1995. To learn more about Project Linus, email projectlin us.org. Contact Billie Szymanski at 419-787-4046 or tolprojlinus@yahoo.com, for more information about the quilt-a-thon.
