At the March 19 meeting, the Springfield Township trustees approved permanent appropriations for 2024. Under Ohio law, jurisdictions are required to submit a budget by April 1.
Fiscal Officer Barb Dietze, who steps down at the end of March, presented the $29.33 million budget. She projects revenue at $30.82 million.
The largest portion of the budget is for fire and EMS with appropriations of $7.9 million and $2.47 million, respectively, for a total of $10.38 million.
The general fund follows with a budget of $8.84 million, which includes administration, township hall, zoning, parks and capital and transfers.
Other amounts appropriated are the road and bridge fund, $813,498; gasoline tax fund $593,441; permissive motor vehicle tax fund, $342,759; motor vehicle license tax fund, $62,395, and cemetery fund, $73,178.
The trustees expressed appreciation to Ms. Dietze for her 11 years of service and wished her well in future endeavors.
