Fallen Timbers Battlefield self-guided tour released

Holy Toledo History Tours has released its latest selfguided GPS audio tour on the VoiceMap app. Entitled “Voices of Fallen Timbers,” the tour is available for download for a fee. It invites history enthusiasts to explore the site of the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Metropark.

On August 20, 1794, the Fallen Timbers Battlefield was the scene of a pivotal conflict that shaped the course of American history. The tour takes visitors on a 1.5-mile circular journey through the Northwest Territory Trail, where General “Mad Anthony” Wayne led a coalition of 2,000 federal troops and 1,500 Kentucky Militia in skirmishes against a confederacy of about 1,100 Native Americans, supported by Canadian allies.

Through the “Voices of Fallen Timbers,” participants will experience the battlefield, guided by the insightful narration of Tedd Long, chief storyteller of Holy Toledo History Tours.

Each step of the tour is designed to transport listeners back in time, offering a vivid reimagining of the historic clash through the voices of those who lived it.

Mr. Long’s storytelling brings to life the critical locations, dramatic encounters, and poignant moments of the battle. The tour also highlights recent discoveries that shed new light on this historic event.

“The ‘Voices of Fallen Timbers’ tour is more than just a walk; it’s an immersive journey into the heart of American history,” said Mr. Long. “Each time I visit the battlefield, I’m deeply moved by the stories of courage, conflict and transformation that unfolded here. Our goal is to share these powerful narratives with the world, making history accessible and engaging for all.”

The tour starts at the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Metropark. Participants will walk the grounds where General Wayne and his forces engaged in a decisive battle.
