County Democratic Party elects committee chair

On April 18, the Lucas County Democratic Party elected Schuyler Beckwith as the new chair of the organization at a central committee meeting.

With a background in community activism and political engagement, Beckwith brings experience to the leadership role.

Having served in various capacities within the party, Beckwith has demonstrated a commitment to advancing progressive values and fostering inclusivity within the political landscape. A longtime county resident, Beckwith possesses an understanding of the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Beckwith is poised to lead the Lucas County Democratic Party, advocating for equitable policies that will propel the party forward in its mission to create positive change.

“I am deeply honored to have been chosen as the chair of the Lucas County Democratic Party,” said Beckwith. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow Democrats to build a more just, compassionate and prosperous community for all residents of Lucas County.”

In addition to Beckwith, the following officers were elected: Pete Gerken, first vice-chair; Raina Dawson, second vice-chair; Megan Schmidt, secretary; Daniel Ortiz, treasurer, and Rebecca Facey, sergeant-at-arms.
