Healthy Kids Day returns to Toledo YMCA

Healthy Kids Day is celebrated at YMCA locations across the community. Events are free and family-friendly, aiming to promote healthy habits, active lifestyles and funfilled experiences for children and families as they embark on the summer season.

Sponsored nationally by Peanuts, Healthy Kids Day is dedicated to transforming playtime. At the YMCA’s events, attendees can expect engaging activities designed to inspire physical activity, creativity and connection among participants.

“It is so important for kids to stay active over the summer, both physically and mentally,” said Beth Konczal, executive director of the eastern community YMCA. “At the Y, we are committed to providing families with the resources they need to foster healthy habits year-round. Healthy Kids Day is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and kickstart a summer of wellness and fun.”

Locally, the event is made possible through the generosity of sponsors and partners. Joining the festivities will be multiple community organizations and businesses, adding an extra layer of excitement and support to the event. Some of them include Toledo Health Department, Office on Minority Health, Oregon City Community Schools, Humana, Imagine Planet and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Events will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Eastern Community YMCA and Saturday, May 4, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the West Toledo YMCA. The May 4 event is exclusive to members.
