Trauma situations can quickly deplete hospital blood banks. During Trauma Awareness Month, the American Red Cross needs donors to help ensure a strong, stable blood supply is available at a moment’s notice.
The following area blood drives are scheduled this month:
•Monday, May 6, from noon to 6 p.m., at Springfield High School, 1470 South Mc-Cord Road, Holland.
•Friday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Maumee United Methodist Church, 405 Sackett, Maumee.
•Tuesday, May 14, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Broadway, Maumee.
Appointments also can be scheduled to donate blood at the Red Cross Toledo Blood Donation Center, 3510 Executive Parkway, Toledo.
Hours are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment to donate, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1800-733-2767.
