Volunteer Orientation
Orientation is set for Wednesday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Glass City Metropark, Glass City Pavilion.
This is an informational meeting designed to get new volunteers or interested community members familiar with the Metroparks Toledo volunteer program. It is strongly encouraged that new volunteers or volunteers who have not attended a previous orientation and received a volunteer handbook to attend.
There will be multiple orientations throughout the year.

Upcoming Volunteer Programs And Trainings Outdoor Skills Programs
Volunteers are needed to assist on public and requested outdoor skills programs including rock climbing, paddling and more. No experience required.
For those 16 and older. Tuesday, May 21–field trip, rock wall and archery at Side Cut, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Trash Pickup
At International Park, every second Wednesday and fourth Sunday. Next date is May 26, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Help keep the greenspaces and waterways clean. For those 12 and older, volunteers must have an adult with them if under 16. Meet in the large lot across from the waterfront restaurants.

Singletrack Bike Trail Days
At Oak Openings Preserve Metropark, every second and fourth Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Next dates are May 11 and 25.
Assist with repairing the singletrack mountain bike trail. Activities include digging drainage, moving dirt and gravel, trimming brush, potentially constructing a boardwalk or stone path. Meet at the Wheelhouse, 3520 Waterville-Swanton Road, Swanton. For ages 12 and older. Those 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up in Vicnet or email Julianne. Water Quality Monitoring
Offered May through September at Side Cut, Wildwood, Farnsworth and Providence.
Assist Metroparks staff in the use of biological monitoring to determine the water quality of streams and rivers.
The open dates for May and June are listed below. For ages 12 and older. Must be accompanied by an adult if under 18.

Outdoor Expo
At Side Cut Metropark, Saturday, May 18, from 9 to 11 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 1 to 4:30 p.m., or 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up and teardown as well as activities during the event including rock climbing, archery, hammocking and more. No experience required. For those 16 and older.
Metroparks Toledo Blood Drive
At Wildwood Metropark, on Wednesday, May 22, from 8:30 to 10 a.m., 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:30 to 3 p.m. or 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Metroparks will be hosting a blood drive in association with the Red Cross. Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up, registration, canteen and teardown.

Garden Keeper
Offered March through November with a flexible schedule.
Join the garden keeper program and help maintain park landscapes to provide a clean, safe and natural experience for visitors while inspiring preservation efforts. Primarily looking for additional help at Glass City, Pearson, Secor and Swan Creek. Contact Julianne. warr@metroparkstoledo.com to get started.
Ice Cream Social
Set for Sunday, June 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., on the front lawn of the Wildwood Manor House.
Bring a blanket or chair while enjoying live music and a treat, available for a fee.
This event is sponsored by Manor House volunteers. Proceeds fund the continuous restoration and maintenance.
