Toledo Art Loop 2024 summer schedule

The Arts Commission invites all to enjoy a summer series of Art Loop events. Explore the local creative community through celebrations of art, artists and spaces that inspire a vibrant Toledo.

Art Loop is a program of the Arts Commission, presented in partnership with the artists and participating venues who make it possible. All Art Loops are free community events.

The 2024 schedule is as follows: Art in the Park Saturday, June 15, noon to 4 p.m., Glass City Metropark, 1505 Front Street.

The Arts Commission partners with Metroparks Toledo for a first-ever Art Loop in the Park. The free community event celebrates art, natural spaces and the Glass City. Guests may enjoy art activities and demonstrations, craft stations, music, roller skating, a scavenger hunt, bike tune-up station and more. The event also marks the one-year anniversary of Glass City Metropark and the brand new installation of the public work of art, Field of Histories.

Art Loop: Young Artists

Saturday, July 27, noon to 4 p.m., Adams Street, between 14th and 18th streets.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Young Artists at Work program, the Arts Commission is partnering with Toledo School for the Arts for a young and arty summer party. The free event highlights activities by and for young creatives including a student art sale, craft stations, youth performances, music and dance, art demos, thrift and vintage merchants, a Handmade Toledo mini maker’s mart, food trucks and more.

Dancin’ in the Streets Saturday, September 21, Superior Street at Madison Avenue In conjunction with Momentum Festival’s full line-up of art and culture activities, this event helps to “kick off” the commission’s 65th anniversary celebration with an afternoon line-up of live contemporary, ethnic, traditional and interactive dance performances.

Poetry Slam

Friday, November 8, 6 to 9 p.m., Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Boulevard.

This event spotlights talented local and regional poets and spoken word artists. The evening features a poetry slam competition, live music, ekphrastic writing activities and a selection of CAC artists’ tables. Free and open to the public, with snacks and drinks available for purchase.
