Springfield Middle School students perform with BGSU Academy Band

On Sunday, April 6, 10 students from the Springfield Middle School band performed in a concert with the Bowling Green State University Academy Band. These students rehearsed weekly since mid-January to put together a phenomenal performance at Kobacker Hall. The ensemble was made up of 80 seventh and eighth grade students from 22 different schools from across the greater Toledo area. The Academy Band ensemble, led by BGSU’s music faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, provided these musicians with the opportunity to rehearse in a college setting, explore challenging repertoire and showcase their progress and passion for music in their final performance.

We are so proud of their accomplishments and for challenging themselves to perform in this distinguished ensemble.

The Springfield students who participated are: Abigail Coleman (eighth grade), Zahra Edwards (eighth), Kora Hall (seventh), Danica Maese (eighth), Mateo Magana (seventh), Koralynn Sensel (eighth), Elijah Vercellotti (seventh), Madisyn Waite (seventh), Kai Walker (eighth) and Chase Young (seventh).
