The Lucas County Fair is turning up the heat this summer with the launch of its first-ever Brew-Off and Beer Garden, running Monday through Sunday, July 7 to 13, at the Lucas County Fairgrounds. This new event will showcase local craft beer with a friendly competition, community voting and the ultimate prize: a rotating trophy and a featured tap at Dale’s Bar and Grill in Maumee for the remainder of the summer season. Craft beer enthusiasts and fairgoers alike are invited to visit the Tapped 419 truck to sample and vote for the best hand-crafted summer beer from participating Lucas County breweries. Guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the beer garden, open all week, with live music and additional beer styles from participating breweries available daily. “This is a fun and interactive way to celebrate Lucas County’s brewing talent while bringing the community together,” said event organizer Terry Littrell. “We’re excited to kick off what we hope will become a favorite summer tradition.”
Brew-Off Highlights
•Sample and Judge: for just $20, attendees receive a souvenir tasting cup, samples of a specialty crafted summer beer from each brewery and free admission to the fair
•Cast Your Vote: select the top three best summer brews in Lucas County
•Signature Reward: the winning brewery earns a custom engraved rotating stein and the special honor of being featured on tap for the remainder of the summer at Dale’s Bar and Grill
•Bonus Game: participate in “Match the Tap” by identifying which beer belongs to which brewery for a chance to win prizes Beer Garden Hours and Offerings
The garden will be open daily with 16-ounce brews available for purchase at just $6. Enjoy a variety of beer from the featured breweries. The Glass City Mashers will be on hand for demonstrations on Saturday at noon.
•Monday to Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m.
•Friday, 4 to 10 p.m.
•Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the winning brewery announced at 4 p.m.
•Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
Participating breweries include: 60cc Brewery, Buffalo Rock Brewing Co., Earnest Brew Works, Funky Turtle Brewing Co., Great Black Swamp Brewery Co., Inside the Five Brewing Co., Maumee Bay Brewing Co., Oncore Brewing, Patron Saints Brewery and Quenched and Tempered Brewing Co.
