Victory Center to hold ‘Intimacy and Cancer’ event

The Victory Center and Baskets of Care are hosting the eighth annual Intimacy and Cancer: A Frank Discussion for Women Survivors event. It will be held Monday, June 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Victory Center Toledo, 3166 North Republic Boulevard, Toledo. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

This free event is an opportunity for women survivors in our community to learn from experts and ask questions in a safe and open environment.

Featured speakers are Rachel Gardull, MSW, LISW, AASECT certified sex therapist, and Tina Kerr, BSN, RN, breast cancer survivor and advocate on survivor sexuality.

Women who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer, whether currently in treatment or post treatment, are encouraged to attend. This event offers a safe and supportive space to discuss all aspects of intimacy during and after the cancer journey, including emotional intimacy, body acceptance and personal intimate health. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share concerns both openly and anonymously.

Due to the sensitive nature of the discussion, children and spouses/partners are not permitted to attend. Refreshments will be served during this special event. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended by calling 419531-7600 to make reservations.
