On June 20, attorney Zac Shaffer was among 24 Ohio lawyers to graduate from the Ohio State Bar Association’s 2025 Leadership Academy.
Shaffer is an attorney with Charles E. Boyk Law Offices in Holland, where his practice is focused on personal injury, workers’ compensation and other civil litigation matters. Prior to joining the law office, he gained experience in personal injury, family, criminal and employment law. Along with the Ohio Bar, he is a member of the Ohio Association for Justice and the Toledo Bar Association, where he serves as the chair of the Young Lawyers and Social Engagement committees. During law school, Shaffer earned a certification in health care law and gained experience clerking for both plaintiff and defense firms. Shaffer earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Toledo.
The academy is designed to nurture and prepare lawyers for effective leadership in the association, the legal profession and their communities. The interactive training program takes place across a five-month period in six sessions, during which participants interact with a diverse group of bar leaders and other professionals, learning about topics such as civility, ethics and professionalism.
The lawyers are selected based on their stated commitment to the goals of the academy, a demonstrated history of interaction with the legal and their own communities and diversity of experience, background and demographics.
