The Toledo Repertoire Theatre reports its upcoming production of the play “The Blue Bird,” written by Nobel Prize winning author in literature, Maurice Maeterlinck. The play will run from Thursday through Sunday, July 24 to 27. Featuring young actors aged seven to 17, “The Blue Bird” tells the story of a search for happiness and adventure. Set in a fairy-talelike setting, Tyltyl and Mytyl, the son and daughter of a poor woodcutter, are sent out by the Fairy Berylune to search the world for the Blue Bird of Happiness. After many challenges and adventures, they find it in their own backyard. This play has been entertaining audiences for more than 100 years.
It will be directed by Irina Zaurov and stage managed by Izzie Douglass. The cast features: Lydia Walkup, Michael McCarty, Archie Bailitz, Emma Malcolm, Aedan Sansom, Julia Mc-Carty, Riley Reardon, Remington Spencer, Rosie Chirico, Kynnidy Vaughn, Anderson Linares, Lizzie Kingman, Dean Sansom, Collin Moore, Bryce Gilbert, Bobby Napierala, Willow Cook, Ella Ziegelhofer, Lucie Harbick, Hazel Cook, Alli Carner, Rosie Carner, Mallory Moore, Molly McElheney, Ellie Harbick and Ava Linares.
Performances will take place at the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, 16 Tenth Street. Showtimes are at 7 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m.
