Maumee Senior Center health and wellness fair returns Sept. 5

Maumee Senior Center will hold its 11th annual community health and wellness fair on Friday, September 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2430 South Detroit Avenue, Maumee.

“We are so excited to offer our health and wellness fair again this year,” said Tiffany Peet, program coordinator. “There will be over 30 vendor booths, which will provide many valuable resources to seniors in the community.”

Features include two educational presentations by the Alzheimer’s Association titled “The Impact of Alzheimer’s and Dementia,” which will be presented at 10 and 11:30 a.m. These presentations will explain the differences between Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the warning signs and risk factors associated with the diseases. There also will be a variety of free health screenings, as well as other community resource information from various agencies. A free meal, sponsored by Maumee Pointe, and a chance to win a grand cash prize of $250 also are available.
