Important News

October 18 to 22: Scholastic Book Fair (details below).

November 1: Trunk or Treat, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Holland Hawks got a great treat this week. We encouraged students in grades K-5 to show their school spirit once again, all while getting in some important exercise. The Hawk Walk returned and took place during the time students typically spend in “specials.” It was open only to parent volunteers (which we will always welcome more). In addition to the walk, last week also was Stomp Out Bullying Week. This is a nationwide initiative in teaching and supports students of all grades to develop positive relationships, understand the signs of bullying and stand-up for others if they ever see bullying happening to another child.

Halloween Details

There will not be classroom parties or costume parades. However, teachers have been encouraged to have fun Halloween activities. Join Holland Parent Council (HPC) at Trunk or Treat on Monday, November 1, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. More details about the event will be coming. If interested in helping, send an email to: hpcinform@gmail.com or post on Facebook: HPC Holland Parent Council.

Students of the Week The following students were selected as students of the week for showing Hawk Way core value of responsibility. Way to go friends: kindergarten, Jaxon; first grade, Corbin; second grade, Nesreen; third grade, Lilliana; fourth grade, Megan, and fifth grade, (Flowers), Landon

Birthday Treats

Please remember that birthday treats are not permitted. This includes individually packed food items. We do allow students to bring in non-edible things to share with students like pencils. Please communicate with a teacher prior to purchasing or sending to the school any items to celebrate a birthday.

Scholastic Book Fair

We are excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair return to the school October 18 to 22. This will only be open to students, but there will be several parent volunteers assisting the students that week. Students will visit the book fair with their classes and be able to create a wish list. After that, there will be times throughout the week for them to come to the fair to make purchases.

Holland Parent Council

Please consider attending Holland Parent Council (HPC) meetings this year. They have already planned some terrific events, and they are hoping to be able to do much more later in the year. Meetings are every third Tuesday (with the exception of a couple meetings) at 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteria as follows: October 19, November 16, December 14, and in 2022: January 18, February 15, March 15, April 12 and May 10.

Fund-raiser Update

The Choice Fund-raising ended. Delivery for all items sold will be on November 8. Please watch for future communication on how it will all be distributed. HPC thanks you for your continued support.
