Council appoints Lt. Piotrowski as the interim chief of police

The Village of Holland has appointed an interim chief of police to serve until a permanent leader is appointed. At the February 6 meeting, council tapped Lieutenant Jim Piotrowski to fill the role while the village conducts a replacement for Chief Bob Reed, who retired last year.

Trustees approve wage increase for acting fire chief

Following an executive session at the February 12 meeting, the Springfield Township trustees approved a salary increase for acting fire chief Jon Ziehr. He will be paid the equivalent of the chief’s salary, $122,490 annually.

Explore Italy on Feb. 26

2024 Dumpster Days service

Springfield Township residents are invited to use a free dumpster service three times during 2024. Located behind the township building, 7617 Angola Road, Dumpsters Days will be offered from 8 a.m.
