Hospice of Northwest Ohio seeking volunteers

Hospice of Northwest Ohio has an immediate need for licensed hairdressers or those who can sew, and volunteer their skills to meet the needs of hospice patients and families. Hair care volunteers are needed for basic haircuts for patients throughout Wood, Lucas, Fulton, Henry, Ottawa and Monroe counties.

Training, jobs available in public utility operations

Anyone searching for a career pathway can learn about a new program offering free education and employment connections in drinking water and wastewater operations. The event will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, September 25, at Owens Community College.

Ciderfest to be held Oct. 6

Toledo Night Market will present the second annual Ciderfest419 from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, October 6, at the Ribbon at Glass City Metropark, 1505 Front Street, Toledo. Ciderfest419 will feature ample tastings of hard cider, mead, wine and craft beer, as well as a concert by the Marty Ray Project, an Indie band, and dancing with Urban Cowboy Line Dancing, both visiting Toledo for the first time from Nashville.

Corn maze now open

The corn maze at the Butterfly House is now open through October 29. Hours are from 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays; from noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays, weather permitting. Ticket are sold until one hour before close.

Metroparks Toledo plans frightfully fun events
