Tree, shrub, garden sale open through March 31

The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District (Lucas SWCD) is accepting orders for the annual tree, shrub and garden sale through Friday, March 31. Orders can be placed online at Lswcdtree.square.site (credit card only) or at their office, 3350 Hill Avenue Suite K, Toledo, during business hours where payment can be made by cash, check or credit card.

Glass City bird crew seeks volunteers

The Glass City bird crew, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, stationed at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, and the Toledo Zoo, is seeking birdwindow collision monitoring and collection volunteers.

Before becoming a classroom teacher or school district administrator, I have always been a learner. As a child and sibling of educators, learning has always been stressed, encouraged and enjoyed. It is with this mindset that I tackle almost every challenge that I face–it’s pretty much a Geha tradition to dig in and learn as much as possible about an issue, topic and/or opportunity. Then, we discuss and at best try to understand the elements that can polarize and create “sides” in a debate.

Springfield High School Business Teacher Bonita Adams Motivates Students to Address Relevant Issues Springfield High School business foundations classes (Career Pathways classes), under the direction of business department chair/ teacher Bonita Adams, have been working on a project called “Helping My City.” While learning about economics, Mrs. Adams continued a project she designed to help encourage the teenagers to take a more active role in their community and help to influence its economy.

YWCA Milestones Awards luncheon set for March 30
